Reminder: Order Supplies for Next Year Now!

Dear P.S. 40 Families,

The PTA has teamed with 1st Day School Supplies to offer school supply kits to P.S. 40 families for the 2017-2018 school year. The teachers have created general supply kits for each grade. The kit will be delivered to your home before the beginning of the school year.

This is a voluntary program, created for your convenience and as a school fundraiser. Last year, over half of the school chose to participate. If you choose not to participate, please purchase your child’s supplies using the list of supplies, by grade, that can be found on, under Classroom School Supplies.

To order through the 1st Day School Supplies, please follow these easy steps by FRIDAY JUNE 30th:

1.      Go to

2.       Enter School zip code (10003) and click on link for P.S. 40 School Supplies.

3.       Select and order a kit based on NEXT YEAR’S GRADE (Boy or Girl, accordingly), and you’re

*Please note, this is a general grade supply kit; your child’s teacher may ask for supplemental items in the fall.

*There are a couple of additional items on the Kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grade school supply lists (e.g. Homework Folders, smocks for Kindergarteners) that are NOT included in the School Supply Kit.  These must be purchased separately.  See the list on for more information.

*Pricing includes shipping and a portion of the sale price goes to support the PTA and provide essential materials and services to the classrooms.

The deadline to order online is FRIDAY, JUNE 30th.  Please note that the account will close after this date and you will not be able to order online.
