Welcome to P.S. 40!

We invite you to further explore our curriculum, programs, and facilities.

P.S. 40 is a caring community of teachers, administrators and parents working together to promote the development of confident, compassionate and responsible students. Dedicated to the three interrelated concepts of academic excellence, social responsibility and self-esteem, P.S. 40 fosters an anti-racist and inclusive environment where learners value each other and the world around them. Children learn to cultivate relationships, resolve conflicts, and partner together to achieve a more equitable society and face the challenges of our changing world with resilience and optimism.

Our rigorous and inquiry-based curriculum, centered around diverse voices, includes literature, specialty classes, student-driven play and open conversations. P.S. 40’s highly dedicated educators collaborate to create an enriching atmosphere that supports a child’s natural curiosity and the development of independent and critical thinking.
