Wingspan Art’s Club 40

An on-site program, Club 40, in partnership with Wingspan Arts, offers an enriching world of after-school clubs, such as Art and Crafts, Storytime Theater, Chess, Cartooning, Dance, Music, Karate and many others. Experienced instructors and P.S. 40 teachers conduct classes, and Club 40 runs until 6 p.m. Scholarships are available. Check out the class schedule at and register online for fall programs. Chess Coach Nelson

Every Thursday, on site at P.S. 40, Chess Coach Nelson instructs children of all levels in the fun, wonder and mental challenges of chess. Contact Juliette Knight for his schedule at 212-475-5500.

Sol Goldman 14th Street Y

Between 1st and 2nd Avenues. The 14th St Y serves students from Pre-K through 5th grade. 14th Street Y counselors will pick up your child from school and bring him/her to the Y for classes including: dance, art, board games, sports, homework help plus swimming! NY Kids Club

Our enriching and fun Afterschool Program pairs one hour of homework help and snack time with 2 NYKC classes. Students will participate in a variety of class types including: Gymnastics, Art II – World Art, Junior Chefs, and Afterschool Musical. The Afterschool Program is offered Monday through Wednesday 2:45-5:45pm and registration is available on a 1, 2, or 3 day per week basis.
